Pinehaven Presbyterian Church began in 2006 when two central Mississippi Presbyterian churches merged their congregations. Mt. Salus Presbyterian Church of Clinton joined together with St. Paul Presbyterian Church of Jackson, with the hope of relocating in Clinton as Pinehaven Presbyterian Church.
That hope was fulfilled on November 3, 2013, when the first worship service was offered to the Lord at 2001 Pinehaven Drive after many years of prayer, many generous gifts, and many a divine providence.
Although our parent churches no longer occupy a physical place, their Bible-believing, Gospel-proclaiming legacies continue to shape our congregation’s culture to this day, and root us deeply within the community we serve.

St. Paul Presbyterian Church was established in 1955 on Robinson Road in Jackson. More than a century before, the original Mt. Salus Presbyterian Church was established in 1828 in Clinton, then called Mt. Salus.
By the late 1990s, an increasing portion of St. Paul’s congregation was based in Clinton, and the hope for a church presence in that community began to take shape. Meanwhile, the leaders of Mt. Salus felt it was time to relieve their smaller congregation of the burden of maintaining a large, older facility.
These churches prayerfully merged on August 20, 2006. Members of both of these churches contributed generously to the construction of 2001 Pinehaven Drive, where we now meet as Pinehaven Presbyterian Church. But their most formative contribution remains their faithful commitment to be a light for the Gospel in Clinton.
